Jethro Tull - Ian Anderson
The British rock band, Jethro Tull is best known for front man, Ian Anderson's unusual stage antics, which early on, gave the band a massive following of fans and media attention. He would often hop around stage on one foot, dancing while playing his signature instrument, the flute, with a folk-like blues sound. Ian Anderson wore this renaissance style jacket at one such performance.
Shakira donated more than twenty custom-made stage costumes to the Hard Rock memorabilia collection from her last world tour. In return for her donation, the Hard Rock Cafe made a generous contribution to her charity, "Fundacion Pies Descalos." The Foundation builds schools in rural areas of Latin America to provide education, nutrition, and counseling for child victims of displacement. She can be seen wearing this halter-top on the award presented to her from Sony Music for the album sales of "Laundry Service."
Joe Perry - Aerosmith
"This Duo Jet Gretsch was my 'road' guitar so I wouldn't have to take my original. I used it mainly for the song 'Dude Looks Like a Lady'." Joe Perry, Aerosmith.
Front man Steven Tyler wore this stage costume during many concert performances with Aerosmith.
Velvet Revolver - Dave Kushner
Dave Kushner used this guitar at the very first full-length Velvet Revolver show at Roxy on the Sunset Strip.
Keith Richards - The Rolling Stones
This 1959 Gibson Les Paul was owned and played by Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones. Gibson Guitars from the late 1950's have been popular with such guitarists as Mike Bloomfield and Eric Clapton because of the rich sounding tone of the "humbucking" pickups, custom designed for these instruments. The 1959 Les Paul is one of the most expensive and rare electric guitars in the world.
This infamous gold "cone brassiere" stage costume became a cultural icon in it's own right after it was designed for Madonna by Jean Paul Gaultier and worn on her 1990 Blonde Ambition Tour.
Godsmack - Tony Rambola
Boston based alternative metal group, Godsmack, emerged on the "post grunge" period of rock and roll in 1997. Guitarist, Tony Rombola, wore this stage shirt on their fall 2003 U.S. tour.
Cheap Trick - Rick Nielsen
Rick Nielsen ordered this whimsical example of modern engineering proving that things are not always as they seem. As much an art object as it is completely functional electric guitar, the full sized saxophone, complete with a reeded plastic mouthpiece, doubles as a synthesizer, producing many different types of sounds and tonal effects. This guitar appeared in the highly regarded collector's edition book "Guitars of the Stars, Volume 1."
A black, left-handed Stratocaster, which was used and then smashed on stage by Kurt Cobain at the Reading Festival in England, 1992. This event was the last U.K. appearance by Nirvana.
