Alice Cooper

Foam Head

Though he was born in Michigan, shock rock pioneer Alice Cooper has made Phoenix his home for decades. A deeply intelligent artist, Alice saw the need for higher entertainment value in rock and worked tirelessly to provide it. His infamous stage show is a direct link from vaudeville tradition to the megawatt extravaganzas of today. The rubber head on display is a prop used in his infamous guillotine routine and he signed this leather Hard Rock jacket.

David Bowie

Velvet Pants

Bowie wore these crushed velvet pants in the mid ‘60s at the beginning of his career. At the time, he was still known as David Jones.

Pearl Jam

Lyrics

Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder jotted these lyrics down on a plain paper bag. Sometimes when inspiration strikes, you have to use the tools at hand.

Stevie Nicks

Boots

Phoenix native Stevie Nicks wore these amazing boots on stage during Fleetwood Mac’s 1977 tour in support of their smash album ‘Rumours’. The red satin gloves are from her 1989 video for “Rooms on Fire” and the Ibanez guitar was signed by both Stevie Nicks and Sheryl Crow. The lyrics written on the guitar are from Stevie and Sheryl’s 2001 collaboration, “Sorcerer”.

KISS

Axe Bass

Gene Simmons played this completely over-the-top Axe Bass on stage with KISS right here in Phoenix on August 10th, 2012.

The Rolling Stones

Star Bass

In 1964, Rolling Stones bassist Bill Wyman signed a three-year endorsement deal with German guitar company Framus to promote their Star Bass series. Framus instruments were popular with the early British rockers largely because they were easy to get in Britain, whereas American makes like Fender and Gibson were exceedingly scarce and expensive. This Star bass was Bill Wyman’s main instrument in the mid ‘60s. It’s seen both stage and studio with the Stones.

Bon Jovi

Suede Jacket

Bon Jovi’s brilliant guitarist, Richie Sambora, wore this suede jacket on stage. If you look closely at the left shoulder, you can see where the suede has become indented from Richie’s guitar strap.

Grateful Dead

Guitar

This guitar was signed by all the members of the Grateful Dead – including the late Jerry Garcia.

Aerosmith

Costume

Aerosmith’s iconic frontman, Steve Tyler, wore this incredible outfit on stage with the band in the 1980s.

Shakira

Copper Pants

These pants were worn on stage by Colombian superstar Shakira during her 2002-2003 ‘Tour of the Mongoose’. Shakira gave us over twenty pieces of wardrobe in return for a donation to her ‘Pies Descalzos’ foundation, which provides educational services and much more to underprivileged children in South America.
