Come celebrate 25 years of Hard Rockin’ in San Francisco! On Saturday, November 7, 2009, Hard Rock Cafe San Francisco celebrates 25 years of service to the Bay Area with a live performance by Atlantic Recording artist and two-time Juno Award-winning, Canadian songstress Serena Ryder, featuring opening act Eoin Harrington. Named by USA Weekend as one of the “Faces To Watch In 2008” and as Canada’s “Most Promising” by Billboard, Ryder is currently touring to promote her latest album Is It O.K. (2008). The album has been certified gold in Canada and is currently available on www.serenaryder.com. Serena Ryder's debut album, Is it o.k., paints a self-portrait that’s bitter in betrayal in songs like“Sweeping the Ashes,” and yet not without affection in the hard-hitting “Little Bit of Red.” All of these moments Ryder brings to life with a performance that resonates in memory long after its last notes fade. Reviews surfaced in her wake, comparing her to “the teenaged Aretha Franklin” (Elle), noting her “impressive fearlessness” (Boston Globe), lauding her “pipes, presence [and] potential” (No Depression), and observing that “Ryder brings a range and vocal maturity of someone twice her age” (American Songwriter).
Remaining true to the brand’s “Love All, Serve All” motto, the event will feature over 20 silent and live auction items from rock icons, including Green Day, Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, John Lennon, U2, The Who, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Aerosmith and many more! Proceeds from the auction will benefit Music in Schools Today (MuST), a Bay Area non-profit organization that advocates for, supports and develops integrated, accessible, sustainable and measurable music-in-education programs that improve student achievement.
The showcase and events of the evening will include celebrity red carpet, complimentary food and adult beverages, performances by recording artist Eoin Harrington and a special guest appearance by Atlantic recording artist, Serena Ryder .
Please join us and Hilary Newsom, our event chairperson, raise much needed funds for MuST, by bidding on silent and live auction items such as signed memorabilia and instruments from such notable artists as; Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, John Lennon, U2, The Who, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Aerosmith and many more!
All proceeds from Hard Rock Cafes 25th Anniversary celebration will be donated to
