The Kiss memorabilia field is so dense, there are entire books,
price guides and fan conventions devoted to the Kiss collectors-sort
of the rock version of "Star Trek." With the seventh album, "Love
Gun," an assured instant hit on release in 1977, the band unleashed
a mountain of Kiss merchandise on an eager public. The band even
produced instruments such as the Gene Simmons "Axe" bass, made
in a "limited edition" of 1000. The dragon's head Pedulla custom
bass was more like something Simmons might have actually played
