Velvet Revolver didn’t just sign a guitar. They also took to the stage in an effort to raise money for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. On Tuesday, September 6th, Hard Rock Live Orlando and Real Rock 101.1 hosted a concert featuring members of Velvet Revolver and AC/DC. The show helped to raise $250,000 for the American Red Cross.
The band’s pro bono performance was just the tip of the iceberg. Hard Rock staffers devoted their time and corporate partners donated the rest. 100% of ticket, food and beverage sales went to the relief effort. The success of the night stands as further proof that humanity finds a way to pull together in a time of crisis.

There's a saying that everything's bigger in Texas. Evidently, that includes charity. The state that is currently housing thousands of displaced hurricane survivors felt it could do even more. In conjunction with Hard Rock Cafe Austin, 93.7 KLBJ broadcasted 72 hours of live programming September 9 th through the 12 th from Hard Rock. It was all a part of "AUSTIN CARES: Rockin' Out & Helpin' Out." The Cafe doubled as a drop off point for clothing and food donations all weekend. Local bands performed live throughout the event and listeners were encouraged to take part in a "Pay to Play" promotion that allowed song requests for a monetary donation. There was also a silent auction for anyone interested in taking home a piece of rock n' roll memorabilia and donating to a great cause.

Hard Rock Cafe and the media of Myrtle Beach had a mission: raise $100,000 for the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
