Charitable Arm of Hard Rock International Honors 50 Music-Centric Charities
Hard Rock International, in partnership with its Hard Rock Heals Foundation, today announced it will donate $250,000 to 50 grant recipients around the world in 2019 as part of the brand’s commitment to improving the lives and resiliency of local communities. This announcement marks the third consecutive year the Hard Rock Heals Foundation is supporting community-run programs through grants that provide greater opportunities for those who share Hard Rock’s passion for music.
The 2019 international grant recipients include a diverse group of local organizations such as Gigi’s Playhouse, New York, N.Y.; Marty Wilson Jr. Art and Music Foundation, Atlantic City, N.J.; National Foundation for Youth Music, London, England; Nordoff-Robbins, Glasgow, Scotland; The MusicianShip, Washington D.C.; Bombay Teen Challenge, Mumbai, India; Trirat Foundation, Pattaya, Thailand; Pacelli School for the Blind, Lagos, Nigeria; and Fundacion Camino, Santiago, Chile.
“The Hard Rock Heals Foundation lives by a Love.Amplified. motto, so it’s only fitting this announcement comes with love in the air before Valentine’s Day,” said Kellie Brown, Manager of Global Philanthropy for Hard Rock International. “As part of our effort to improve lives through the power of music, our yearly grant program provides the opportunity for each Hard Rock team to nominate a charitable organization in their community. With properties in more than 75 countries, this process allows us to serve diverse, local communities through trusted partners that share our belief in the universal healing power of music.”
Funds provided by the Hard Rock Heals Foundation help to support programs aimed at Autism awareness, instrument donations, music education, elderly care and music therapy. In addition to this year’s grant donations, the charitable arm of Hard Rock International has donated $365,000 since it began awarding grants in 2016. Overall, grants have been awarded to more than 100 locally-run, music-centric, health and wellness charities in Hard Rock markets around the world, including the recently opened Hard Rock Cafe Music Room at Hospital La Paz in Madrid, Spain.
