Hard Rock continues to diversify its entertainment offerings with new gaming properties in secondary and tertiary markets across the country while also remaining in the “big events business” with high-profile underplays and special one-offs.
“We have continued to play in the ‘big event business,’ hosting some of the industry’s top performers, including Pearl Jam, Shakira, Chris Stapleton, Eagles, Stevie Nicks, Andrea Bocelli, Guns N’ Roses, Jonas Brothers and Eric Church, in more intimate theater settings, which has positioned our venues among the top-performing and most celebrated in the world,” says Keith Sheldon, president of entertainment and brand for Hard Rock International and Seminole Gaming.
“Beyond the live entertainment business, we’ve also worked outside of the box on original content, including several streaming and broadcast specials.”
Standing out among the portfolio is the 7,000-capacity Hard Rock Live venue in Hollywood, Florida, which puts up arena-sized grosses at the company’s flagship resort property, known for the 450-foot-tall, 638-room Guitar Hotel.
Sheldon also notes the expansion of the Hard Rock Beach Club at the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix, which he says has become “one of the premier entertainment activations in global sports.” Talent partaking in the festivities this year includes Zedd, Nelly, Marshmello and Kane Brown, among others.
“Consumers continue to prioritize experiences, but they are also becoming more intentional with spending, which means the experience itself has to truly deliver value and differentiation,” Sheldon says. “Our approach has been to stay flexible, diversifying our entertainment offerings, investing in partnerships and experiences that drive both visitation and loyalty, and continuing to leverage the global reach of the Hard Rock brand. We are fortunate to operate across multiple entertainment and hospitality verticals, which gives us the ability to adapt while continuing to invest in high-impact opportunities.”
